Sorry! I'm alive!

I'm back! I'm not going to be able to keep up with this as regularly as I had hoped, but I will at least try to keep it updated more than I have been. So, on with the new stuff.

The other day, I finished a pair of socks for my mom. Let me just say that Deborah Norville's Serenity sock yarn is a godsend. Now I'm working on something for myself. Namely, the Skew sock from Knitty.

This will prove to be a pretty defining moment for me as a sock-knitter for quite a few reasons.

  • It's the first time I'll have knitted socks on two circular needles instead of on DPNs
  • It's the first pattern I've ever followed that is anything other than a straight stockinette no-nonsense short-row-heel sock
  • It's the first time I have ever knit on the bias
So. Apparently I didn't bother to find out how much yarn I needed for a pair of socks when I was on a spending spree at the yarn store, so now I have enough yarn to make three socks, each one a different color. Luckily, this is taking me ages to figure out, so I'll have more than enough time to pick up the rest of the yarn. Plus, I'm practicing on some left-over sock yarn that I have laying around, so that'll buy me even MORE time.

Anyway, I'm going to get back to Scrubs and knitting. Much love!
